About….

I’m so hungry for the family I love so much – it’s been six months since I’ve been with our grands & sons & DILs. Time flies! Life is good – it is well with my soul and I am thankful for every single minute that GOD gives me breath.

My Gary is so missed. I was his Sugar and he loved on me and his family – always us first. (I’ve forgiven him for the tax mess!) Our 50th anniversary would have been in July; that’s a long time spent together – growing up, working out a marriage & life, laughing together even through the storms … ‘making memories’ we called it.

SO, I’m going to trade this AZ heat for the Ohio heat (& humidity & mosquitos) but the family reward will be so worth it! Fly or drive? Drive alone? Visit friends along the way like Gary & I wanted in our queue? I bought a companion … on Amazon, of course – The Queen! HRH has already been to various real estate and social events and I think it will be fun to blog along the way – properties for sale (vs AZ), truck stops & Starbucks, etc!

Hilltop Shine comes from a bible verse that really spoke to me many years ago (in The Message version), Matthew 5:16 –

‘You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.’

There you have it – I’ve been given hilltops in this life and haven’t always done a very good job at it but now a real sense of need to, want to, purposefully …. SHINE!
